1. What this site is
Han Name Studio provides cultural guides and free entertainment tools about Chinese culture: names, the I Ching, the zodiac, and the five elements. It is an educational and entertainment website. It is not a law firm, a temple, or a fortune-telling service.
2. Fortune tools are for reflection, not decisions
The I Ching Reader, Zodiac Fortune, and Five Elements tools present traditional cultural material for entertainment and cultural appreciation. Nothing on this site is professional advice of any kind — not financial, legal, medical, or otherwise. Don't make significant life decisions based on a hexagram; if you're facing a real decision, talk to qualified humans.
3. Names are suggestions
Names generated by our Name Generator are assembled from a curated character set for learning and fun. A Chinese name carries real social weight: before using a generated name in serious contexts (documents, official matters, tattoos), have it checked by a native speaker you trust. We're happy to be pinged with questions, though.
4. Your use of the site
You agree to use the site in a lawful way, not to scrape it in bulk, and not to use it to misrepresent others. Your tool inputs stay on your device (see our Privacy Policy) — but please don't paste secrets into any website, ours included.
5. Intellectual property
The guides, text, design, and code of Han Name Studio are original works. Traditional cultural material (the I Ching hexagram structure, the zodiac cycle, the five-element system) belongs to millennia of history and is presented here as public cultural knowledge; the specific wording, organization, and illustrations on this site are our own. You may share links freely. You may not copy large portions of our guides for commercial republication without asking first — a short quote with a link is always welcome.
6. Availability & accuracy
We work hard to get cultural and linguistic details right, but no one is perfect, and traditions genuinely differ by region and source. If you spot an error, tell us and we'll review it promptly. The site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law.
7. Third-party links & ads
Ads shown by Google AdSense are governed by Google's own policies (see Google Ads policies). We don't control the content of ads or linked third-party sites, and we're not responsible for them.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the site grows. The "Last updated" date above tells you when we last did. Continued use after a change means you're okay with the new terms; if that's not the case, the site is a few clicks away.
